Third Year Core Abroad &
Third year McIntire students:
The McIntire School of Commerce and Fundacao Getulio Vargas are offering third-year Commerce students an opportunity to study international business in Sao Paulo during the spring semester of students' third year of study.
The curriculum is designed to provide the essentials of the courses you would have taken at McIntire during this semester, so you will not fall behind your classmates who do not study abroad. The skills you develop and the experiences you have in this program will surely be a very valuable part of your total UVA educational experience. FGV course offerings are extensive, and all Commerce students will find a good selection of courses that interest them.
For more information, view our course planning information.NOTE: UVA accepts transfer credit (no grades) for courses taken abroad; however, students must receive a grade of C or better on each course to transfer credit back to UVA.
Students must attend the McIntire information session and complete the online Education Abroad Workshop on the www.studyabroad.virginia.edu website. Students should then complete the online "UVA Commerce: Semester Abroad" application available on the ISO website.
Applications are due by noon on the deadline date. Once admission is approved, students will be required to complete a program-specific application packet and attend several orientation sessions later in the semester.
Exchange students may apply for off campus accommodations through FGV's accommodations office.
Additional InformationThis program is an exchange program, with tuition being paid to UVA. Detailed information about this fee can be found in the online Education Abroad Workshop.
All UVA students are required to have both basic international health coverage and emergency assistance coverage when studying abroad. See the Insurance page on the ISO website for more information about requirements. Additional information and details about the Sao Paulo program can be found on the FGV web site.
