Program Description:

UVa In Valencia is a flagship study abroad program of the University of Virginia, continuously operating since 1983. The program offers courses in Spanish Language and Hispanic Studies, as well as other thematic tracks.

Program Goals
With the growth of international trade and multinational industries, engineering students are finding it increasingly desirable to acquire international experience and cross-cultural communication skills. The UVA in Valencia program offers students engineering courses in English, taught by Spanish faculty. This will give students a unique opportunity to gain a different perspective on the coursework. Through living with a host family, the Spanish language course, and cultural activities and trips offered during the semester students will improve their fluency in Spanish and get to experience firsthand the vibrant culture of Spain.
