About Abby Leake:
Abby Leake joined the International Studies Office in February 2015. Although she is a native of Virginia, she earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, North Carolina. At ECU, Abby studied both Hispanic Studies and Asian Studies as an undergraduate student and went on to pursue her masters in International Studies with a concentration in International Higher Education Administration. During her time as graduate student, Abby was able to work in the Office of International Programs at ECU and to intern at the University Oulu, Finland in the International Relations division. Along with her studies, these experiences equipped her to begin her career in international education. Before coming to UVA, Abby worked at Presbyterian College in South Carolina and Western Kentucky University with both incoming international and outgoing domestic students. In addition to Finland, Abby has visited Sweden, Denmark, England, Belgium, Germany, Mexico, Brazil and Chile. She is happy to return to her home state and to be a part of the UVA community!
